Media session 6 – South Bank visit
We were required to go to South Bank and click each other for magazine. We were also supposed to click other people’s street style for the street style section of our magazines. We were supposed to find different interesting locations and backgrounds in that area and shoot the models in various angles. We were also asked to experiment with furniture and work with creative poses.
After reaching the view was absolutely breathtaking with the London bridge and London eye right there. There were many cafes on the side of the pathway and the area below was lit up with beautiful lights giving us scope to experiment with different backgrounds. We started off by clicking pictures in front of the river and boats. The shots came out very peaceful with calming tones. We also took some close up makeup shots to capture the details. The eye makeup was a perfect contrast to the blueish-grey river behind. Then we went on to take pictures in the cafes and got a few casual shots of the outfits. After a while we took a break and had a lunch break at Le Pain Quotidien which had amazing interior aesthetics. I clicked a few pictures there as well and then we went on to eat. After the break we walked to Tate Modern to click a few more shots with props. I carried a corpse bride wedding veil, gloves, a pair of wings and a few white pieces of clothes to experiment with. We asked Lathisha to model for us inside with the wings and all the other props. We shot a few pictures in front of the paintings and few near the entrance. The shots came out pretty good and we moved on to click some random aesthetic pictures. Overall we were happy with the outcomes and all of us worked well as a team.
What I need to improve is my planning. Next time I am gonna plan all the looks way ahead to time and carry everything needed. Because of lack of outfits I couldn’t experiment much with different looks as much as I wanted to. I also realised that we should have experimented with the backgrounds and poses more.
