Media session 2 – Styling session

I was looking forward to today’s class since it was a styling session. The objective for today’s class was to create different fashion looks and then style each other in those looks and then do a photoshoot. We were also asked to carry different garments and accessories for this session.

We began by forming groups of 5-6 people. Then we were asked to put all the clothes and accessories on display on the clothing racks and click pictures of them. After that was done me and my group members started styling the mannequin in different looks. Carlyn’s feedback was really helpful and she asked us to experiment with layering, which we started doing. After creating each look on the Mannequin we were supposed to click pictures of the same. We were also also asked to click pictures of the minor details for the trends page. All three looks turned out pretty good and three of the group members decided to model these looks. After the first task we took a lunch break and decided on the locations.

The lunch break was over and we decided to shoot the first look. We went on the stairs and clicked a few pictures against the wall where the sunlight hit directly. The outcomes were nice. Then we tried clicking a few pictures in the backyard as well. We moved on to the other two looks and experimented with the poses and locations. My favourite shots were the ones in sunlight because I personally like natural lighting. After the photoshoot we were supposed to put together a trends page using today’s outcomes. I enjoyed today’s class and had a lot of fun.
